What you get
Free breakfast from 8am. Outside those hours, the self-service kitchen and basics are left out for early starters.
No load-shedding. Grid-tied solar with a Freedom Won lithium battery means uninterrupted power and strong WiFi.
Daily BazBus shuttle access. Hop-on/hop-off between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
Wood-fired pizza bar. Open daily 4 PM to 9 PM, with cold drinks and cold beers on the sunset deck.
Sunset deck + braai. One of the best sunset spots on the Garden Route, with space for groups and chilled evenings.
Explore the area
Wilderness offers hiking, mountain biking, surfing, kitesurfing, and beach walks along more than 30 km of coastline. The Garden Route National Park is right on the doorstep, with day trips to Knysna, Sedgefield, and Mossel Bay. It is a perfect base between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth on the N2.

Groups, contractors, and venue hire
We host work crews, event groups, and functions with mountain and ocean views. Weekly and monthly contractor rates are available for stays from one week to several months. Our venue hire includes self-catering options, the braai area, and the sunset deck.

Please note
Wildfarm Backpackers is located on a farm in the hills of Wilderness. Allow about 15 minutes from the central Wilderness turn-off; the final stretch is gravel and can be bumpy, so this destination is best suited for adventure travellers. The scenery makes the trip worth it.
House rules
- Check-in from 2 PM, check-out by 10 AM. Early arrivals can use luggage storage.
- Quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.
- Breakfast from 8 AM. Self-service kitchen available before then for early starters.
- Cash and card accepted. WhatsApp bookings preferred.
